After the intense heat, activity, and joy of summer, autumn is a period of transition and slowing down that can often feel uncomfortable for the body and mind. From an energetic perspective, the yang energy that carries us through the summer—bringing warmth, outward focus, and movement—begins its descent, gradually giving way to its complementary yin energy, which is most abundant in winter, focused on inward reflection and cold.
Essential oils can offer a revitalizing boost to the body during this often-somber season and provide an effective remedy for the lack of sunlight and feelings of withdrawal.
Tea Tree: Has proven antiviral properties. It inhibits the replication of the H1N1 influenza A virus and can reduce the penetration of viruses into cells.
Cinnamon Bark: Contains cinnamaldehyde, which is effective against the influenza A virus and has been shown to result in a 100% survival rate in treated mice.
Oregano Oil: Considered a “natural antibiotic,” it fights cold and flu-type infections and has antiviral action.
Eucalyptus: Antiviral and decongestant. It opens airways, reduces mucus, and decreases inflammation, making it useful for respiratory infections.
Thyme: Rich in thymol, it has an antiviral effect and reduces viral contagiousness.
Lavender: Has antimicrobial and calming properties, helping to reduce inflammation and improve sleep during an infection.
Ravintsara: Known for its antiseptic, antiviral, expectorant, and immunomodulatory properties. Used in diffusion, inhalation, or topical applications (diluted), it helps to alleviate colds, sinusitis, flu, and bronchitis.
Ylang-ylang, Eucalyptus, Bergamot, Geranium, Tea Tree, and Pine: Have an antiviral effect and help to purify the air and promote relaxation.
Frankincense: Antiviral and antiseptic, useful for supporting immunity and emotional protection.
Protection & Easy Breathing Roll-On (10 ml)
Ingredients:
6 drops Ravintsara (antiviral, immunostimulant)
4 drops Tea Tree (antiviral, antibacterial)
3 drops Eucalyptus Radiata (breathing support, gentle expectorant)
2 drops Lemon (vitamin-rich, purifying)
Carrier oil (sweet almond, jojoba, or fractionated coconut) to fill up to 10 ml
Preparation:
Take a 10 ml roll-on bottle (dark glass with a metal ball).
Add the drops of essential oils.
Fill the rest of the bottle with your chosen carrier oil.
Shake gently before use.
How to Use:
Apply to the soles of your feet, wrists, chest, and neck 2–3 times a day, especially at the first signs of symptoms.
Can also be used preventively during the cold season.
